Notice of Race issued
19.03.08
OC Events, organisers of the iShares Cup Extreme 40 sailing series, have issued the Notice of Race to the potential teams that hope to compete in the 2008 season. The Notice of Race sets out the sporting and commercial objectives of the iShares Cup 2008 and teams now have until 31.3.08 to officially enter the series for this year. Many have already verbally declared their intention to race and there is little doubt the bar will be raised in the season ahead. Fourteen Extreme 40s now exist with the America's Cup teams of Alinghi and BMW Oracle both owning two apiece. The 2007 teams of BT, Holmatro, JPMorgan Asset Management, Team Denmark, Tommy Hilfiger and Volvo Ocean Race are already planning an active season of racing. The iShares Cup 2008 will consist of five events across the UK, France, Germany, Switzerland and Holland. The teams are invited to attend a full briefing on 25.3.08 at the HQ of OC Events in Cowes, UK, and full details for the iShares Cup will be declared shortly once all the venues are secured and the teams officially entered.
