Extreme 40s bid farewell to Cowes
10.08.07
Following a successful iShares Cup Regatta that saw Team Basilica retain their lead in the iShares Cup followed by three nights of exhibition racing, the Extreme 40s have bid farewell to Cowes and are heading back to the mainland to be packed into their containers and shipped on to the next destination.
Cowes drew eight boats to the Isle of Wight, the biggest Extreme 40 fleet to date, to race on Solent waters at times just off the Green and in easy watching distance of the crowds who gathered for Skandia Cowes Week.
The next essential stop for these high performance boats is the iShares Cup, Amsterdam 14-16 September where boats will race in the final edition of the iShares Cup Extreme 40 Sailing Series, competing on one of the largest canals in the heart of Amsterdam. In addition to racing the Extreme 40s will also put on an exciting exhibition racing display. Stay tuned to see what we have up our sleeve for the upcoming event.
Before stopping in to Amsterdam several of the boats will take on Lake Garda's classic Centomiglia Race from 8-9 September.
